Captain Clarke's Estate

Had a good walk around the above estate this morning. Decided to fit my camera with my 50mm lens and try and be a little more creative with my composition.

Although the sky was overcast and light levels low I set off our mini hike with a positive feeling. I was looking around for unusual items to photograph or usual items in a different way.

We came across an old Severn Trent water supply trailer in a field. I assume it is used to provide water for the livestock in the surrounding fields. It was originally White with rust now taking over. I was drawn to the row of taps at the back of the trailer and that is where most if my pictures were focused.

A pile of cut tree limbs also drew my attention and again I tried to look at it differently and focus my lens on the texture of the bark. Hopefully I'll have some interesting shots.

Towards the end of our walk we came across some buildings and an old gate that would have led into the gardens of the Old House before it was taken down and nature reclaiming the land. I imagined it being a gate into the past, a little like the dressing room for Mr Ben.

I also kicked start my quest in finding things in the world that when photographed could look like a letter. By the end of the year I hope to have the whole alphabet.

Wish me luck!
