Photography and the Law

Free expression versus the right to privacy

A photographer is a citizen with a camera who, like everyone else, has to abide by the law. In most countries, the law attempts to balance the right to free expression and a free press with the individual's right to privacy. In essense, if a subject is on their private property, such as in their house or their garden, a photographer cannot take a picture without permission. Photographers are also not allowed to take pictures in certain zones at airports or in court.

  1. Hi

    Unit One:

From day one you took to this way of working like a duck to water. Also you have shown a very academic approach to all the work you have produced. It has been very clear to see the techniques, materials, and resources you have used both at college and on location.
You have always been able to write very descriptive blogs which have been able to evidence all your thoughts and ideas. All my comments on your blogs and in class have been evidenced and you have listened and put these into practice. All your techniques have been very clearly recorded and I am able to see all the technical and creative reasoning behind your work.
