The top two photos are taken by a professional whilst the bottom ones were taken by myself. The reason why I like these shots is mainly due to the use of lighting and the time of the day that the photographer has used. I love how they have used flash to separate the model from the background and how they have used the time of day to give it an interesting mood.
They have also used the rule of thirds to draw the viewer through the picture. I feel the photographer has also used the locations to great effect and the colour of the models clothing to make them stick out from the background.
In the shots I have taken I have tried to emulate the style of the professions whilst adding my own take on it at the same time. I found lighting the model challenging as it was taken against the horizon with the setting sun behind it. It was aso challenging lighting the chimney breast as I didn't want to over power the model, just add an interesting mood to the scene. Something I hope I have done.
Hi A good shoot with reference to your influences. You need to include more historical references next time to add more value to your work. We will cover this way of working at level 3. Meets all the criteria as labelled
Hi A good body of work but you need to include and reference to more historical influences and not just contemporary photographers. All areas of photography need to have supportive research that spans various eras. We will cover this more at level 3. Meets all the criteria as labelled
