The top picture is by a professional photographer which I found when searching the internet and realised I really liked it. The bottom one is my attempt of copying the style whilst still adding my own take to the scene.
The things I like about the top photo is the way the photgrapher has used a variety of components to make the shot successful. I like the way he has used the white line and the shadows to draw the viewer into the shot. I like the way the net frames the footballers without drawing the viewer away from the main subject. I especially like the fact he has gone against the rule of shooting into the sun and used it to give the subjects a glow whilst using fill flash to give the models faces the correct tome and enuring that the lighting doesn't make them look too flat.
I found trying to duplicate this shot extremely challenging as it was very difficult to balance the light coming from the sun directly behind the models and using enough light from the front to give the models three dimensions.
Framing the models with the correct scenery was also difficult to choose as I wanted to compliment the models not detract from them. I have tried to use the different parts of the priory to draw the viewer to the models.
I am not completely satisfied with this shot as I am not sure that I have achieved everything that I wanteed and whether I have used enough light on the models faces.
